To celebrate July's birthstone, here are two of the world's most gorgeous and expensive rubies! Which one is your favorite?

On the left is the "Crimson Flame," a 15 carat Burmese ruby that sold for $18 million in December 2015, setting the world-record for price-per-carat for a ruby. On the right is another stunning gemstone, “Sunrise Ruby,” a 25.59 carat Cartier ruby. It sold at auction in May 2016 for $30 million, FAR exceeding its estimate of $18 million, and setting the record for a Cartier jewel at auction. Wow!

Isn't this relationship goals?! George and Virginia Brown celebrate their 60th Anniversary with spectacular and heartwarming photos taken by their Granddaughter to celebrate their marriage πŸ˜πŸ‘°πŸ’’ The couple also contributed a few hints to others for having a marriage that lasts. The top three are:

*Don't go to bed angry.
*Maintain a sense of humor
*Be willing to forgive.

Family also means everything to the couple. The Browns have four children, 18 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. George has been pastor for 46 years and says that God planned this long-lasting marriage.

"It was God's message through this to the world about the marriage covenant that seems to be so tattered today," he explained. "For the truth is that marriage is not a contract, but a covenant. A contract can be broken, but a covenant between God, man and wife is a vow to be honored."

Happy Birthday July Babies! πŸŽ‚πŸŽ‰

There’s no better way to demonstrate your love than by giving a ruby, King of Gems, in celebration of a July birthday. Rubies arouse the senses and stir the imagination! Ruby is durable enough for everyday wear as it is harder than any natural gemstone except diamond. Ruby is a variety of the gems species corundum. Other colors of corundum gemstones are called sapphires. Fine-quality ruby is extremely rare, and the color of the gem is most important to its value. The most prized color is a medium or medium dark vivid red or slightly purplish red.

Historical Diamond Facts πŸ’ŽπŸ’―

Some of the earliest recorded mentions of diamonds come from ancient Indian literature. Diamonds were associated with purity, cleanliness, and tied to the Hindu deity Indra – King of all Gods. The Sanskrit word for diamond is varja, which translates to “thunderbolt.” So it makes sense, that only the most brilliant, radiant diamonds would suffice.

Perhaps this ideology has made its way into modern culture since some Southeastern Asian cultures focus more on Clarity than the other 3 C’s!

Here are three great tips for caring for your jewelry during the summer season πŸ’ŽπŸ’ It's important to know when to take your rings OFF

Summer jewelry tip #1: De-bling before gardening! Dirt and small rocks are abrasive to jewelry. Gardening gloves can be dangerous, too. Prongs and gemstones can catch on them and rings can slip off when you take off gloves. To be safe, always remove your jewelry before gardening.

Summer jewelry tip #2: Never wear rings in cold water! The cold temperature in pools, oceans, lakes and rivers causes your finger size to shrink temporarily. When this happens, rings can easily slip off fingers without you being aware of it - until it's too late!

Summer jewelry tip #3: Remove your jewelry before applying sunblock or bug spray. Substances like lotion can get stuck into the crevices of chains or prongs and can be hard to remove later. These products also leave a film on your jewelry, making it appear dull and dingy. This also applies year-around to perfumes and lotions!

"The circle symbolizes eternity, with no beginning or end. What most people don't know is that the hole in the center of the ring also has significance—it's not just space, but rather a gateway or door. When you give a woman a ring, it signifies immortal love."

Here's a COOL fact about diamonds!

If you put a diamond on your tongue, your tongue will start to get cooler! This happens because diamonds are great conductors of heat. Your tongue feels cool because the diamond is drawling heat out of your tongue.

How exactly do pearls, June's birthstone, form in nature πŸ€”β“

Pearls are formed when a tiny bit of sand or material gets trapped inside an oyster. The oyster produces a “nacre” as a defense mechanism that coats the intruder, layer after layer. A pearl is formed naturally in only 1 in every 10,000 oysters.

Freshwater pearls can take between 1 and 6 years to form; whereas saltwater may take between 5 and 20 years. The longer a pearl stays in the shell, the more nacre that forms and the larger the pearl. Freshwater pearls can grow to be just as big as saltwater pearls, but they take less time to develop because the layers of nacre are not as compact as those surrounding the saltwater pearl.

Did you know June has a 3RD birthstone?! June is one of only two months that has three birthstones associated with it. We've highlighted pearl and alexandrite, two of June's birthstones; the third is MOONSTONE!

June’s third birthstone, moonstone, was named by the Roman natural historian Pliny, who wrote that moonstone’s shimmery appearance shifted with the phases of the moon. As its name implies, moonstone is closely associated with lunar mystery and magic. Its calming, balancing energies can supposedly attune to natural biological rhythms. Also known as the Traveler’s Stone, it’s believed to protect travelers at night. #moonstone #junebirthstones

June's popular alternate birthstone, Alexandrite, is one of the most interesting and rare gem varieties in the world!

Alexandrite is a relatively modern gemstone, discovered in Russia in 1831. What makes alexandrite such a unique gemstone: It has a chameleon-like ability to change colors, and has been described as an “emerald by day, ruby by night.” It is a lovely green in both daylight and fluorescent light; it changes color to a purplish red in incandescent light!
